It has become very common for DPF systems on Ford vehicles to be removed and deleted from the vehicle. Although in practical terms removing and deleting a DPF from your car may solve your engine management light and performance issues temporally, MOT emission testing limits change as time goes on making it harder for vehicles with DPF deletes in place to pass their MOT come test time.

If your wondering why your car failed it's mot without an properly functioning DPF system in place - well the answer is simple, the DPF is an effective filter system that catches and neutralizes a vast amount of the toxic emissions your engine gives out. Without this filter in place up to 500% more emissions are released out of the exhaust system hence why your car may have failed it's MOT without a functioning DPF in place.

There are other reasons why your car can fail it's MOT emissions test, this could be due to an injector or fuel pressure fault etc.
